🚴 Route 8 — The Costa Brava on two wheels

L'Escala · Sant Martí d'Empúries · Parque Natural del Montgrí · L'Estartit · Río Ter

Well-signposted bike lanes, greenways and natural paths running through beaches, dunes, pine forests and protected areas — also suitable for electric bikes or walking some stretches.

The route leaves L'Escala along the seafront promenade towards Sant Martí d'Empúries, one of the smallest and most charming medieval villages in Catalonia.

It continues along the edge of the Montgrí Natural Park to L'Estartit, where you can rest by the harbour with views of the Islas Medas.

The return leg runs alongside the Río Ter and through farmland, away from traffic.

This isn't a competitive or demanding ride — it's designed for enjoying the journey, stopping at viewpoints and taking photographs.
