👨👩👧👦 Route 7 — A perfect family day
L'Estartit · Islas Medas · Butterfly Park · Tren Turístico · Playa de Riells
A route designed so that young and old alike can enjoy themselves together, combining nature, outdoor activities and moments of fun in a single day.
The day begins in L'Estartit, with a glass-bottom boat trip to the Islas Medas, one of the most important marine reserves in the Mediterranean — little ones can watch fish and the seabed without getting wet.
Next, a stop at the Butterfly Park Empuriabrava, a tropical garden where hundreds of exotic butterflies fly freely among palm trees and birds from around the world.
After lunch, head back to L'Estartit for the tourist train or a relaxed walk around the harbour, while the children play on the beach.
The day ends at Playa de Riells, in L'Escala — a wide sandy beach, a seafront promenade, play areas and plenty of ice cream parlours and restaurants.
