Route 5B — Cala Ferriol

📍 Montgrí Natural Park

🚗 12 km (20 min to the car park)

🥾 20-25 min on foot

A cove of smooth pebbles and crystal-clear water, reachable only on foot or by sea — no beach bars, no crowds. Here, the landscape takes centre stage.

✅ What to do:

swimming, snorkelling, nature photography, hiking.

⭐ Don't miss:

the cliffs, the clarity of the water, views of the Montgrí.

📸 Best photo: the path down, a few metres before arrival.

Best time: 10:00–12:00.

🅿 Parking by the access road into the park; 20-25 min along a signposted path (some stony stretches, not suitable for pushchairs or reduced mobility — sturdy footwear recommended).

🍽 Where to eat:

no restaurants at the cove — eat in L'Estartit or Begur.

☕ Services:

no showers, toilets, bins or lifeguard — a protected natural environment.

🤿 Snorkelling:

white seabream, damselfish, octopuses, crabs, posidonia seagrass.

👨‍👩‍👧 With children:

only if they're used to walking (20-25 min, pebble beach).

👵 With seniors:

not recommended (uneven terrain).

🐶 With pets:

excellent outside restriction season.

🌦 In strong tramontana winds:

there can be swell — check conditions beforehand.

plenty of water, sunscreen, a cap, water shoes, snorkelling goggles, a towel, food if staying for several hours.

don't leave litter, don't light fires, don't collect stones/plants, respect the wildlife.
